I have a painting of an old man with a beard signed William with slashes on both sides of the name.?

He has a hat that has a pink thing on top of it and his beard is white and he has a smoking pipe in his mouth...please help. I got it for my birthday and my parents and they said what its worth you can have....P.S. IM NOT SURE IF THAT NAME SAYS WILLIAM IT MAY BE WILLIIUNV.. SOMETHING LKE THAT..answer soon
