Would this hook you into reading the rest of the book?
The interstate, wallowed in darkness, only partially illuminated by ping cars or randomly placed billboards. One billboard in particular stuck out to him though. Most of its lights were either busted out or flickering and one of its metal legs wobbled. He switched his eye’s back and forth between the Chevy Malibu in front of him and the unstable leg. Where would this road take the three of them that they had not already been in this moment of destruction? He looked in the backseat at his two friends asleep, nestled in two large comforters. Shockley’s sunflower blonde hair dd over the head rest while her feet were side by side with Nathan’s. The look on their faces made it clear they would not be waking up for the show. He opened his door and shut it as quietly as possible while locking it behind him. Rusted legs of the billboard creaked to the right of him, but he paid no attention. At the driver’s door of the Malibu he pulled a chrome pistol from the holster on his side and with his free hand opened the door shooting the occupant square in the forehead. The shot made no sound. He was reluctant to have picked up the silencer that the pistol wore back a few towns when scavenging a house that had one too many guns in it.
